Make & Do: Knitting Disaster!

For the last three days, I have been attempting to knit my first pair of socks. It’s tradition that I always get my dad a pair of socks for special events, and I figured that this year, I would knit him a pair. The epic blanket knitting episode filled me with too much confidence.

Firstly, it took most of the last three days to get the first three rows on the needles.

Secondly, and most disastorously, I knit backwards. Or inside out. Or something. When it’s knitted, it’s inside out. This causes a whole host of problems when one comes to the heel, etc.

Mum cannot figure out how I’ve done this, or how to fix it. Incredibly disappointing. I loath failing. I’m too embarrassed to even post a picture. But I will start again (with a much easier pattern) and fingers crossed you’ll be seeing pictures of a completed sock sometime soon!
